In my article, I analyze how Kazimierz Dąbrowski's theory of positive disintegration can help with understanding the phenomenon of psychic maturity. From the perspective of this conception, the development of a human being is inherently connecting with going towards your ideal, which can't be achieved without mental disturbance and sometimes even psychic breakdown. The loosening of rigid psychic structures should be linking with self-education. This process leads toward the birth of a new person that internalized her hierarchy of values and goals. This hierarchy can't be changed. The theory inscribes the development of the given individual into five key levels that have different inner properties. I shortly analyzed theory and its main components, and after that, I showed how we should understand mental maturity in the light of Kazimierz Dąbrowski's theory.

The subject of the analysis is a novel by Krzysztof Kotowski. Death at the Puppet Square (Kotowski 2011). This novel combines four narrative plans: a sensational novel, a psychological novel, a metaphysical plan, a novel of the sf. This novel is juxtaposed with another novel by this author, namely the Festival of Lights, which is a "classic" police novel (Kotowski 2013), and also with the novel of Dominik W. Rettinger Talizmany (Rettinger 2017), though reaching to some esoteric threads, is also a sensational and moral novel (the theme of the talismans is treated, in summa, quite pretext). I recalled these two novels to indicate on the background that Kotowski's novel Death at the Puppet Square is a work that generally combines two genres: a sensational novel genre (kidnapping and trafficking) and novel sf genre (there are two threads here: the first is the description appearing - existence - people who are next to us (?), who appear when some fundamental moral principles are violated, the second - the problem of interpretation of certain phenomena in psychology, the third - through a distant reference to Solaris Lem - an attempt to describe the behaviors of creatures that they 45 are called by some force (?) to perform a specific task, and then - they die (?)). In this way, there is another plan in the novel ' Death at the Puppet Square (Kotowski 2011), namely the description of the meeting: its own - the stranger is not only one of the protagonists, but also the protagonist of the novel. In conclusion, the author tries to show that Kotowski's novel is an innovative attempt to write a novel sf, in which the main axis are the problems of psychological sciences, as well as philosophical issues (epistemological, ontological and axiological).

This essay shows drawings and paintings of Bogdan Krasniewski (artist from Toruń) compared to idea of betwixt and between made by Victor Turner, concept of Dark night of the Soul Saints` John of the Cross and theory of positive disintegration compile by Kazimierz Dąbrowski . This confrontation present space in Kraśniewski's paintings not only as material space, but more as space of internal growth, spiritual progress. This way of progress is divided into two parts: spatium initiati – where man chooses between material or spiritual way of life and spatium transitionis where took place constant progress. Artykuł prezentuje twórczość plastyczną Bogdana Kraśniewskiego (artysty z Torunia) i jej związki z opisywanym szczegółowo przez Victora Turnera pojęciem fazy liminalnej, koncepcją „nocy ciemnej” św. Jana od Krzyża oraz teorii dezintegracji pozytywnej, stworzonej przez Kazimierza Dąbrowskiego. Takie zestawienie pokazuje, że przestrzeń w twórczości Kraśniewskiego można rozumieć nie tylko w znaczeniu fizycznym, lecz również jako przestrzeń wewnętrznego wzrostu i duchowego rozwoju. Rozwój ten podzielony jest na dwie części: spatiuminitiati, gdzie człowiek dokonuje wyboru między życiem skupionym na sferze cielesnej albo na duchowej, oraz spatiumtransitionis, gdzie ma miejsce ciągły progres. Artykuł pokazuje, jak te dwie przestrzenie funkcjonują w twórczości Kraśniewskiego.

Der Verfasser schildert seinen Weg zur Erkenntnis des Wesens von Gesundheit und Krankheit und der Beziehung zwischen Psychiatrie und Philosophie. Er beschreibt seine Erfahrungen in der Studentenschule für Psychische Hygiene (1984-1996) und die Inspiration durch das Schaffen von Kazimierz Dąbrowski. Das ganzheitliche Verständnis der Gesundheit und der psychischen Krankheit erfordert die Berücksichtigung der Selbsterkenntnis und der Rolle der Gefühle und Vorstellungen sowie der Dynamik der Integration von psychischen Prozessen. Zum Schluss verweist der Autor auf diagnostisch-semantische Probleme in der Beschreibung der Gesundheit und psychischer Krankheit.

The author, as a philosopher, presents a way to come to understand the nature of health and disease in relation psychiatry and semantics. He describes his own experience working in the School Student Mental Hygiene (1984-1995) and inspired by the work of Kazimierz Dabrowski (1902-1980). It is believed that the understanding of health and mental illness requires full their experience of living and thoughts. And active use of extreme mental states for their own development. In the text the author formulates a diagnosis of attention-semantic, which relate to the description and understanding of health and mental illness on the border of the century.

 Autor prezentuje drogę dojścia do rozumienia natury zdrowia i choroby w relacji psychiatrii filozofii i semantyki. Opisuje własne doświadczenia pracy w Studenckiej Szkole Higieny Psychicznej (1984–1995) oraz inspiracje twórczością Kazimierza Dąbrowskiego (1902–1980). Uważa, że rozumienie zdrowia i choroby psychicznej wymaga pełnego ich doświadczenia, przeżywania, przemyślenia. I aktywnego wykorzystania skrajnych stanów psychicznych dla własnego rozwoju. W tekście autor formułuje uwagi diagnostyczno-semantyczne, które dotyczą opisu i rozumienia zdrowia i choroby psychicznej na granicy XX i XXI wieku.
