We współczesnej gospodarce systematycznie rośnie udział usług w globalnym handlu międzynarodowym. Światowe organizacje gospodarcze starają się gromadzić dane, które stworzyłyby statystyczny obraz tego zjawiska. Najważniejsze dokonania w tym względzie należą do Międzynarodowego Funduszu Walutowego oraz Światowej Organizacji Handlu. W artykule przedstawiono klasyfikacje usług w handlu międzynarodowym tych instytucji, relacje między tymi klasyfikacjami, jak również analizy światowego handlu usługami według trybu ich świadczenia i w ujęciu zbiorczym.

The rising share of services in international trade is one of the characteristic features of globalization of the modern economy. According to this fact members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) signed agreement that regulates rules of free trade for services flows too. The WTO rules defined four possible means (modes of supply) by which international trade in services might arise. The main aim of this paper is to present statistical classification used in international trade in services and analysis of information derived from it by mode of supply. The results of analysis make it possible to state that two most important modes of services supply are cross-border supply and foreign commercial presence. (original abstract)
