Correlation between fantasy and humor in Die Geisterhand by Dieter Kühn This article aims to analyze the concepts of fantasy and humor in a fantasy novel for children Die Geisterhand (1978) by Dieter Kühn. Analytical part is preceded by a brief theoretical introduction (thesis of Gansel, Todorov and Heinrich). Dieter Kühn science-fiction novel in the light of the typology of Gansel can be classified as a dystopia, which takes the issue of personality disorders and the crisis of human identity of 70s of the last century. Humor of liberation remains in this work in close relation to term fantasy and primarily pursues a therapeutic function, since presented episodes on the fantastic plane are deprived of their overwhelming significance. Thus the criticism of imperfect social mechanisms and faulty relationships in the 70s is significantly eased thanks to a comical potential of the book.

Kafkas Humor und die spezifische Komik seiner Texte sind in den letzten Jahren verstärkt in den Fokus der Forschung getreten. Beide kommen insbesondere in Kafkas Auseinandersetzung mit seinem religiösen Umfeld zum Tragen. Dies soll anhand der Tagebuchaufzeichnungen und Briefe Kafkas nachgewiesen werden. In Anlehnung an Henri Bergson wird Kafkas Komik in den Inkongruenzen zwischen dem assimilierten Westjudentum und dem Chassidismus aufgespürt. Unter Berufung auf Felix Weltsch und Sören Kierkegaard wird Kafkas Humor als Ausdruck seiner geistigen Suche herausgestellt.

Kafka’s humor and the comic aspects of his texts recently have been focused extensively by scholars. Both can be observed particularly in Kafka’s confrontation with his religious environment. This is pointed out on the example of his diaries and letters. Referring to Henri Bergson, Kafka’s specific comical imagery is shown as an effect of the observed incongruencies between assimilated Western Judaism and Hasidic Judaism. With reference to Felix Weltsch and Søren Kierkegaard, Kafka’s humor is emphasized as an expression of his own religious inquiries.

Humor Kafki i specyficzny komizm jego tekstów w ostatnich latach coraz częściej były przedmiotem badań w kafkologii. Oba ujawniają się ze szczególną ostrością w konfrontacji Kafki ze swoim środowiskiem religijnym. Artykuł bada te kwestie na przykładzie dzienników oraz listów Kafki. Odwołując się do Henri’ego Bergsona, komizm Kafki jest ukazany jako efekt inkongruencji występujących w relacji zasymilowanego zachodniego judaizmu do chasydyzmu. W świetle tekstów przyjaciela Kafki, Feliksa Weltscha, oraz filozofa Sørena Kierkegaarda humor Kafki jawi się jako wyraz jego własnych religijnych poszukiwań.

Artykuł prezentuje monografię Małgorzaty Filipowicz "Lustige Gespenster", poświęconą technikom i formom komizmu w utworach dla dzieci i młodzieży austriackiej autorki Christine Nöstlinger. Z analizy tych zagadnień wyłania się obraz twórczości mocno osadzonej we współczesnych realiach. Ironia, groteska, parodia, przesada, nagromadzenie sytuacji absurdalnych to sposób pisarki na przedstawianie pełnej problemów codzienności. W swoich książkach dokonuje ona demitologizacji rodziny i tradycyjnych ról społecznych, obala stereotypy, pokazuje negatywny wpływ autorytarnych metod wychowania na młodego człowieka i wynikające z nich konflikty międzypokoleniowe.

Der Beitrag geht auf die Monografie "Lustige Gespenster" von Małgorzata Filipowicz ein, die sich mit den Techniken und Formen der Komik in Kinder- und Jugendbüchern der bekannten österreichischen Autorin Christine Nöstlinger beschäftigt. Die Analyse der Problematik führt zu der Schlussfolgerung, dass Nöstlingers Werk stark mit der Gegenwart verbunden ist. Ironie, Groteske, Parodie, Übertreibung, Häufung von absurden Situationen sind für die Schriftstellerin ein Mittel, zahlreiche Probleme des Alltags zu schildern. In den Büchern demythologisiert sie die Familie und traditionelle Rollenverteilung in der Gesellschaft, baut Stereotype ab und zeigt den negativen Einfluss autoritärer Erziehungsmethoden auf junge Menschen und die aus ihnen resultierenden Generationskonflikte.

The paper is a presentation of the monograph "Lustige Gespenster" [Funny Phantoms] by Małgorzata Filipowicz, which is devoted to the techniques and forms of humour in the works for children and young adults by the Austrian author Christine Nöstlinger. The analysis of these aspects reveals a picture of literary output tightly correlated with the reality to date. Irony, grotesque, parody, exaggeration, accumulation of absurd situations are the ways and means the writer uses to present daily life full of problems. In her books she demythologizes family and traditional social roles, debunks stereotypes, shows the negative influence of authoritarian upbringing methods on young people and the ensuing intergenerational conflicts.
