W opinii wielu socjologów przemiany w sferze pracy, wywołane przez gwałtowny postęp technologiczny, stają się głównym czynnikiem współczesnych przemian społecznych i kulturowych. Wśród spodziewanych negatywnych zjawisk wymienia się wzrost masowego bezrobocia technologicznego, utratę kontroli nad rozwojem sztucznej inteligencji, poszerzenie zjawiska społecznego wykluczenia, narastające rozchodzenie się prekariatu i merytokracznej elity, a w ich następstwie pogłębiający się kryzys instytucji społecznych na czele z rodziną. Stąd też przemiany w pracy są przedmiotem refleksji teologicznej, prowadzonej również przez organizacje ekumeniczne. Wśród szczególnie aktywnych instytucji ekumenicznych należy wymienić Konferencję Kościołów Europejskich i jej komórkę nazwaną „Akcja Kościelna dla Pracy i Życia” i powołaną celowo dla poszukiwania rozwiązań rozważanego problemu. Artykuł w syntetyczny sposób opisuje przemiany w sferze pracy zawodowej oraz ich konsekwencje dla rodziny, społeczeństwa i kultury. Prezentuje również szczegółowe propozycje odpowiedzi na wyzwania płynące z tych przemian, formułowane przez ekumenistów reprezentujących Konferencję Kościołów Europejskich.

According to many social researchers, transformations of the sphere of labour, caused by the technological progress, become a primary factor of contemporary social and cultural changes. An increasing massive technological joblessness, insufficient monitoring of the development of artificial intelligence, spread of the social exclusion, deepening gap between the precariat on the one hand and meritocratic elite on the other, and consequently, an advancing crisis of social institutions are being listed as expected detrimental effects of the technological revolution. The transformations are also commented and intepreted by various ecumenical organisations from the theological perspective, e.g. by the Conference of European Churches, and, in particular by its commission „Church Action on Labour and Life”. Article describes in a syntesizing way changes of the sphere of labour and their consequences for familiy, society and culture. Furthermore, it presents some specific proposals of answers, propounded by the ecumenists from the Conference of European Churches.
