The article is aimed at presenting most essential factors of the distribution of investments and also the potential of local authorities within the scope of creating investing attractiveness of the essential territorial units of Belarus. On the basis of available literature in the field of foreign investment management and regional policy, the author presents the reasons for spatial differentiation in foreign investments in developed market economies. Furthermore, an attempt has been made to assess activities of local authorities concerning creation of positive conditions for making investments.
