Logistic policy is an intentional, direct, and indirect state influence on the effectiveness of processes of product flow and accompanying them information among participants of the supply chains due to the application of certain insłruments. Logistic policy does not only focus on literal logistics, but also on other areas which directly or indirectly may improve the effectiveness of supply chains.

The main objective of the thesis is the authoress' proposal of logistic policy that would improve the physical and information flows among supply chain participants and comply with the goals and principles of sustainable development. The authoress attempts to programme a logistic policy in the context of sustainable development and the highlighted objectives and principles of logistic policy can refer to regional, national and EU levels.

The objective of this article is to analyse the transport sector in Germany and to evaluate Germany's transport policy in view of: facing the opportunities and threats, as well as weaknesses and strengths of the transport sector; reaching social, economic and environmental goals (i.e. goals set by the concept of sustainable development), effectiveness, efficiency and relevance.
