Based on the resources of the Central Historical Archive of Ukraine in Lvov, the article is an attempt at describing the editorship of 'Wiek Nowy', a crime daily published in Lvov in 1901-1939. The paper was created and edited by Bronislaw Laskownicki. Inspired by Vienna's 'Kronen Zeitung', he launched in Poland a popular crime magazine for a mass reader.
