The first part of this paper tries to examine how and why Honza Krejcarová happened to turn into a mythic figure of Czech underground. The second part discusses the question, why the real person and authoress is ignored by this very myth and — even more — is not met with reception in literary history.

Teza/Cel: Celem artykułu jest analiza legend i życiorysów świętych przeznaczonych dla dzieci wydanych w Polsce w latach 1945–1949. W załączonej bibliografii zamieszczono 19 pozycji. Metoda badawcza: Materiał analizowano z autopsji na podstawie egzemplarzy zachowanych w Bibliotece Narodowej (zarejestrowanych w bibliografii polskiej Urzędowym Wykazie Druków „Przewodniku Bibliograficznym”). Wyniki/Wnioski: Najwięcej pozycji opublikowano w Krakowie i w Warszawie w latach 1947–1948. Ich autorami w większości byli znani i cenieni pisarze świeccy. Na uwagę zasługuje osoba Marii Kączkowskiej. Niektóre teksty miały swoje przedwojenne wydania. W legendach i biografiach zaprezentowano ponad 50 osób uznanych przez Kościół Katolicki za świętych lub zmarłych w opinii świętości. Życiorysy, szczególnie życiorysy „świętych dzieci” miały stanowić wzór do naśladowania dla młodego czytelnika.

Thesis / Purpose: The aim of the article is to analyze the legends and biographies of saints for children published in Poland in the years 1945-1949. There are 19 items in the attached bibliography. Research method: The material was analyzed from autopsy on the basis of the copies preserved in the National Library (registered in the Polish bibliography of the Official Print List in Przewodnik Bibliograficzny). Results / Conclusions: Most of the items were published in Cracow and Warsaw in the years 1947-1948. Their authors were mostly well-known and respected secular writers, among whom Maria Kączkowska deserves special attention. Some texts had their pre-war editions. In legends and biographies, more than 50 people recognized by the Catholic Church as saints or dead were presented. Biographies, especially those of "holy children", were to constitute a role model for the young reader.

These/Ziel: Das Ziel des Beitrags ist die Analyse von Legenden und Heiligenleben, die für Kinder bestimmt sind und in Polen in den Jahren 1945–1949 veröffentlicht wurden. In der beigefügten Bibliografie finden sich 19 Positionen. Forschungsmethode: Das Material analysierte man eigenständig aufgrund von Exemplaren, die in der Nationalbibliothek aufbewahrt werden (aufgelistet in der polnischen Bibliografie, dem Amtlichen Verzeichnis von Drucken, dem bibliografischen Führer „Przewodnik Bibliograficzny“). Ergebnisse/Schlussfolgerungen: Die meisten Publikationen erschienen in den Jahren 1947–1948 in Krakau und Warschau. Ihre Autoren waren meistens bekannte und angesehene weltliche Schriftsteller. Hinzudeuten ist dabei auf Maria Kączkowska. Einige Texte wurden bereits vor dem Krieg herausgegeben. In den Legenden und Biografien schilderte man über 50 Personen, die von der katholischen Kirche für Heilige erkannt wurden bzw. im Ruf der Heiligkeit gestorben sind. Die Lebensläufe, vor allem jene der „heiligen Kinder“, sollten für den jungen Leser als Vorbild zur Nachahmung dienen.
