The intention of this paper is to characterize and analyze the contemporary, well known and appreciated theories of change in management science based on a quite generally known Van de Ven and Poole's model of change. The model of Van de Ven and Poole may be a common basis for comparative analysis of different theories of change with different and quite often very complex mechanism of change .
