The article deals with the processes of transformation of mental maps and their significance for the inhabitants of the contemporary dwelling settings in the cities. Semiology is the main analytical approach in description of meaning transformation, in terms of creating (the new 'icons' in the sphere of cities) as the consequence of life style changes and living in certain part of the city sphere that are playing certain role of the map of the country or even the Europe as a whole.
