The entry of Poland into the structures of UE in 2004 results in aspiration to become a member of The Economic and Monetary Union. This requires, however, fulfillment of the convergence criteria, described in the Treaty from the Maastricht - monetary, currency and fiscal. The study tries to assess the effectiveness of the money politics of Polish National Bank in activities aiming to fulfill the monetary and currency norms of convergence in years 2004 - 2010. Using the traditional triad of aims (the control of currency rate, the supply of money and interest rate) and the direct inflationary aim the Authors stated that activities in studied areas does not assure the fulfillment of the norms of convergence - currency and monetary.

The current global economic crisis is peculiar in many aspects. One of the key ones is the cumulating of more crisis phenomena at the same particular time (virtualization of the financial sector, polarization of wealth and poverty in society, immense increase of the moral gamble, but also unsustainable level of living standard, debt crisis, increase in arms expenses, wars, climate changes´ effects etc.). Both the theory and practice talk about globalization, however, in reality, both theory and practices remain bound to the national level. The ethical dimension, inhibition of corruption, removal of inefficiency in the public sector as well as new forms of regulations all create the necessary base for solutions to these problems.
