The purpose of the article is to demonstrate that there is a mutual relationship between the Immaculate Conception of Mary and Divine Mercy. The author asserts that the act of creating Mary free from original sin was God’s act of mercy in the context of her calling to participate in the work of redemption, in keeping her constantly free from personal sins. In addition, Mary’s sanctity is a gift of DivineMercy for sinners who can have recourse to her. God also showed his mercy by giving Mary to people in order to protect them against Satan’s attacks, as Satan never had power over her.

We call Mary – Mother of Jesus, the Mother of God’s mercy, because of at least two reasons imposing in connection with its place in a salvation history. Firstly, the way God creates her and lavishes due to the anticipated birth of His Son – Jesus Christ, whose mother she is. A sin that moves people away from God, who invariably loves and responds mercifully, is completely removed from the life of Mary. This should be considered as a special kind of charity, preparing the Mother of Jesus to fulfill her proper vocation that is realized in her divine motherhood. Another expression of God’s mercy to Mary is her Assumption, in which she is the first among people who can enjoy the closeness of God in the unity of body and soul. Not only does she announce it but already participate in something that is prepared for those who are open for mercy and cooperate with it. Finally, as the Mother of the Saviour of the world, Mary is united with Him in His way and paschal mystery. Through this relationship she works with God’s grace, showing mercy to those most in need, given also to the Church founded by Jesus, and she is the Merciful Mother.

The presented analysis of the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Loreto shows theological thoughts resulting from this prayer. The history of its creation indicates that it is a work of adding new invocations that define Mary. Pope Francis, analyzing the signs of the times, added three new apostrophes to the group of terms: Mother of Mercy, Mother of Hope and Consolation of migrants. All new exhortations have their thoroughly open, in which it is possible to justify, not only in the official teaching of the Church, but also in the theological plan of the People of God. The Mother of God is always open to the voice of her earthly children, she always listens to them with love, although time is relentlessly moving forward and the world is changing from year to year. Therefore, it seems right to say that in the light of the constant changes and the signs of the times, prayer to Our Lady may also evolve, depending on the needs. Thus, the addition of new apostrophes and indications of the Mother of God in the Litany of Loreto seems fully justified. And maybe even especially nice to her.
