W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań nad rozwojem demograficznym Polski w latach 1950-2013, z wykorzystaniem procedur przystosowanych do analizy wielowymiarowych szeregów czasowych. Na podstawie trzech zestawów cech diagnostycznych skonstruowano względny wskaźnik rozwoju oraz podjęto próbę wyodrębnienia jednorodnych faz rozwojowych, w których wartości są do siebie maksymalnie podobne w sensie ustalonej a priori wielocechowej metryki odległości.

The paper presents results of research on demographic development of Poland between 1950 and 2013 with the use of procedures adapted for the analysis of multidimensional time series. On the basis of three sets of diagnostic features a relative development index is constructed and an attempt is made to identify uniform development stages in which values are most similar to each other in terms of multi-quality distance metrics determined a priori.
