It is quite a problematic issue, whether there is any connection between popularization and institution. The article presents different understanding of the term ‘institution’, which appears to have more creative nature. The second part of the essay considers Michal Heller’s critical strategies of reading. Heller’s reviews seem to be a kind of popular science communication, tightly connected not only to the academic institutions. It is the relationship between the popularization and the institution that authorizes to talk about formation of the discourse.
