Obserwuje się rosnące naciski klientów na jakość informacji i serwisowanie kanałów dostaw zakupionych towarów na terenie metropolii śląsko-zagłębiowskiej. Dlatego wydają się rozsądne zidentyfikowanie oraz klasyfikacja poszczególnych czynników wpływających na strukturę i rozwój łańcuchów dostaw w metropolii śląsko- -zagłębiowskiej, a zatem znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie, jak i dlaczego operatorzy logistyczni rozwijają swoje kanały dostaw od Single Channel Logistics (SC) poprzez kanały wielokanałowe Multi Channel Logistics (MC) i kanały wielokrotne Cross Channel Logistics (CC) do logistyki kanału Omni-Chanel Logistics (OC). Artykuł ma na celu zidentyfikowanie czynników wpływających na zmianę logistyki wielokanałowej SC – MC – CC – OC w sektorze transportu, spedycji i logistyki w metropolii śląsko-zagłębiowskiej.

It has been observed that mutual influencing of on-line and brick and mortar sale channels has been increasing. It is estimated that until 2025 on-line sale will most likely increase five times; at the same time, one may observe increasing customers pressure on the quality of the information and servicing supply channels of the purchased goods within the area of Silesian district. That is why it seems prudent to identify and classify particular factors that influence the structure and the development of the supply chains in the Silesian Voivodeship metropolis and therefore, to find the answer to the question how and why logistic operators develop their supply channels from Single Channel Logistics (SC) through Multi-Channel Logistics (MC) and Cross Channel (CC) to Omni-Channel Logistics (OC). The work preceding the paper was to identify the factors determining the change of SC – MC – CC – OC multi-channel logistics in the business sector of transport, freight forwarding and logistics in Silesian metropolis. The research allowed to conclude that the companies of such area are interested in multichannel logistics, however, its determinants are currently focused on SC type of channels. Moreover, the companies of such business area seem to perceive Silesian metropolis as a platform that would boost their development in multichannel structure.
