The presenter is a final link in communicating a programme’s subject or message to viewers. It is the person who hosts, narrates, presents, or takes the main role in the programme. The aim of this article is to analyse the role of a presenter in news programmes and to prove that what usually makes or breaks a presenter is his/her ability to project the right type of onscreen personality.
Television is an attractive subject of research because of the nature of audiovisual and multi-impact message to the recipient. The aim of this article is to analyse the specific component of television information — stand-up with mixture of news and entertainment features. Material for the analysis is based on recordings of news programmes in TVP and TVN.
