It is quite understandable that different dictionaries and manuals as well characterize the terms newspaper and magazine (periodical) in different ways. Anyway it is not quite understandable why these different ways are so different. That is why the paper has been leaned on a fact-finding. Its author has gone through different kind of dictionaries and manuals to find out how the above mentioned terms are characterized. As for the dictionaries and encyclopaedias as well, they were of different kinds (e.g. language, general and specialized ones, in Czech, English, Polish and Slovak). The hypothesis, which was formulated by the author, stated that the most accurate would be the specialized dictionaries. But this assumption proved to be wrong and the most precise definitions of the two terms were found in an general encyclopaedia, namely Funk's & Wagnalls New Encyclopedia.(31volumes. New York : Funk & Wagnall Corporation, 1971-1993). On the pieces of knowledge found in the books, which the author went through, he formulates his own definitions of the terms newspaper and magazine and points out the signs (features) of difference between them. At the same time he underlines that any attempt of this kind is doomed, as the complexity of the terms cannot be put into a few words. Nevertheless we should try to be as accurate as possible.

The main objective of this study was to present an image of the ruling group representatives (politicians and government officials) shaped by the language of the editors of tabloid newspapers. The study was conducted using the sample of hundreds of press clippings from "Fakt" and "Super Express" ("SE") from the years 2005–2009. Most newspaper clippings were taken from the online editions of the newspapers (www.se.pl, www.fakt.pl). The analysis of the language material showed that the image of the ruling group presented in the "SE" and "Fact", is not so much reflected in the language of these newspapers, but is rather intentionally linguistically shaped by the editors of tabloids. This image is created — of course — not only by linguistic elements, but also by the skillful manipulation of the reader and exploiting psychological techniques.

Based on examples of contemporary Slovak documentary theatre, the author characterizes three main groups of this type of theatre. The firs group is characterized by creating a dramatic Picture using the most authentic material, that might overlap with non-fiction literature (e.g. Tiso, written and directed by Rastislav Ballek, Arena Theatre, Bratislava, 2005, M.H.L. by Slava Daubnerova, 2010, Theatre P.A.T. Prievidza and Studio 12 Bratislava). The second group is characterized by creating a play/drama with the text based on the collected materials of documentary and historical nature, such as newspaper articles and interviews with living witnesses that support the storyline (e.g. Dr. Gustav Husak by Viliam Klimacek, Arena Theatre). The third group consists of texts that through the prism of individual and collective memory recall the past, with the accent on one's own view, or memories (e.g. The Velvet by Michal Ditte, Slovak Chamber Theatre, Martin, 2009, or Communism by Viliam Klimacek, Arena Theatre, 2010). A special chapter is Russian documentary theatre. The most famous projects combine specific event captured through interviews and documentary materials (e.g. interactive production One Hour and Eighteen (Minutes) by Elena Gremina, Teatr.doc. Moscow). Another group consists of productions that 'revise' history through the prism of present-day reality, using documentary materials (contemporary film footage, speeches, songs) in confrontation with the present-day reality (e.g, Pavlik is my God by Nina Belenitskaya, Joseph Beuys Theatre and Dokumentalny Dom 'The First Cinema' Moscow on Pavlik Morozovov).

The submitted material study vividly presents the views of the Democratic Party representatives on the Slovak aspect of the construction of the command corps of the Czechoslovak Army with all its nuances. In the vast majority of cases, this was reflected in a tendentious and schematic way, in the most general level of disclosure of basic trends and indicators, without considering the main mechanisms from which it was directly derived, with an emotional, politically motivated downplaying of all the objective causes that were part of it. The reader has the opportunity to judge which of them was the result of querulantism and which were the result of reality, not allowing to resolve the Slovak question in the army to the satisfaction of the Slovak side.
