W polskim systemie bezpieczeństwa wewnętrznego zadania ochrony granicy państwowej są realizowane przez Straż Graniczną. Założona w 1991 r., niezależna i podporządkowana MSW formacja odgrywa znaczącą rolę w wymiarze krajowym i europejskim, jako organ odpowiedzialny za bezpieczeństwo granicy zewnętrznej Unii Europejskiej. Bardzo ważnym elementem formacji jest Nadbużański Oddział Straży Granicznej. Organ ten jest odpowiedzialny za ochronę zewnętrznej granicy UE częściowo z Ukrainą i Białorusią. Głównym celem niniejszego artykułu jest prezentacja historii i rozwoju Nadbużańskiego Oddziału Straży Granicznej od początku istnienia do 2011 r.

In the Polish system of internal security, tasks of the state border protection are carried out by Border Guard. Established in 1991, independent and subordinated to Ministry of Internal Affairs formation plays significant role in national and European dimension, as body responsible for safety of external border of United Europe. Very important element of formation is Nadbużański Border Guard Regional Unit. This body is responsible for protection external EU border partly with Ukraine and Belarus. the main goal of this study is presentation history and process of development of Nadbużański Border Regional Guard Unit since its beginning to 2011.
