The concept of network-centric activities was created in the 20th and 21st century as a result of striving to increase the combat capabilities of army in a manner allowing to dominate the opponent. Numerous scientific analyzes, practical methods and operating schemes have mostly made it possible to meet these needs. This article is a continuation of considerations on network-centric activities and focuses on the indication of their nature and methods of conducting Network Centric Warfare.

Koncepcja działań sieciocentrycznych zrodziła się w XX i XXI w. jako efekt dążenia do zwiększenia potencjału bojowego wojsk w sposób pozwalający dominować nad przeciwnikiem (Kręcikij, Posobiec, 2013, s. 12). Liczne analizy naukowe oraz opracowane praktyczne metody i schematy działania w znacznym stopniu umożliwiły zaspokojenie tych potrzeb. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi kontynuację (Olszyk, 2019) rozważań na temat działań sieciocentrycznych i koncentruje się na wskazaniu ich istoty oraz metod prowadzenia wojny sieciocentrycznej.

The aim of the article is to explain the issue of network-centricity, which operates on military grounds and characterizes modern battlefields. Considerations were divided into two parts due to the large volume of the issue. The first part contains introduction to the topic of network-centricity and analysis of impact of civilization and technological development on the emergence of network-centric concepts. It is also an attempt to define concepts focused on this subject and to show the origin of the concept. Detailed, practical issues related to methods and techniques of network centric activity and the concept of Network Centric Warfare will be discussed in the second part, which will be constitute as a separate article.

Celem artykułu jest przybliżenie problematyki sieciocentryczności, która funkcjonuje na gruncie militarnym i charakteryzuje współczesne pola walki. Rozważania, z uwagi na obszerność zagadnienia, podzielone zostały na dwie części. Część pierwsza zawarta w niniejszym artykule, wprowadza do tematyki sieciocentryczności i analizuje wpływ rozwoju cywilizacyjnego i technologicznego na powstanie koncepcji działań sieciocentrycznych. Stanowi ponadto próbę zdefiniowania pojęć zogniskowanych wokół tej tematyki i ukazania genezy powstania koncepcji. W części drugiej, stanowiącej odrębny artykuł, zostaną omówione szczegółowe, praktyczne zagadnienia związane z istotą, metodami i technikami działalności sieciocentrycznej oraz pojęcie ,,wojny sieciocentrycznej’’.
