W ostatnich latach rośnie rola ujawnień informacyjnych w rachunkowości. Współczesny nurt rachunkowości pokazuje wiele nowych założeń, które poczynione zostały z myślą o dostarczeniu precyzyjnych informacji dla rynków finansowych. Prezentowane informacje zarówno finansowe, jak i niefinansowe mają bardzo istotne znaczenie dla postrzegania przez otoczenie ujawniających je podmiotów gospodarczych. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie ważnego obszaru badań w rachunkowości, jakim są ujawnienia i raportowanie niefinansowe dla podmiotów, które je prezentują, dla inwestorów i wizerunku jednostki oraz przedstawienie korzyści płynących z raportowania niefinansowego. Przyjęte w artykule metody badawcze opierają się na studiach literatury, przeglądzie aktów prawnych, zastosowaniu metody porównań oraz wnioskowaniu.

The role of disclosure in accounting has been growing in recent years. The current trend of accounting shows many new assumptions that have been made with the idea of providing precise information for the financial markets. The presented information, both financial and non-financial, is very important for the perception of the business entities that present them. The purpose of the article is to present the benefits of presenting non-financial information contained in the financial statements for entities that present them and presenting the significance of non-financial information for making decisions by managers, investors and other stakeholders. The research methods adopted in the article are based on literature studies, review of legal acts, application of the method of comparison and inference.
