Status ustrojowy parlamentu Grenlandii

100%
EN
The author analyzes the problem of the political position of the Parliament of Greenland. It is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, which functions on the basis of the assumptions of the parliamentary system of the government. The new Act on Greenland Self-Government of 2009 has increased the degree of the existent autonomy. Greenland has a complex system of authorities, in which the unicameral parliament, composed of 31 deputies, fulfi lls relevant functions. Political parties play an important role in the system as well. It is believed that it is the parliamentary practice — apart from other conditions, in particular economic ones — that will be of great importance while deciding about the Greenland’s readiness for gaining independence.

The author analyses a problem of the genesis and evolution of the Faroe Islands’ aspiration for broadening the scope of the given autonomy. The Faroe Islands are dependent territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. The autonomy has had a long parliamentary tradition, as well as homogenous society aspiring to be recognised as a separate nation. Increasing the scope of a given autonomy was done in evolutionary and peaceful way with full respect to democracy and the rule of law. The Faroe Islands indicates the aspirations towards gaining the independence. Tendencies connected with Europeanisation and globalisation play a special role in the process. Still an unsolved issue, which may be an obstacle on the way to gain independence, remains the financial independence of the autonomy.

Przedmiotem analizy jest geneza i ewolucja dążeń Wysp Owczych do poszerzania przyznanej autonomii. Wyspy Owcze są terytorium zależnym Królestwa Danii. Posiadają długoletnie tradycje parlamentarne, a także homogeniczne społeczeństwo aspirujące do uznania za odrębny naród. Poszerzanie zakresu przyznanej samodzielności odbywa się w sposób ewolucyjny i pokojowy z pełnym poszanowaniem reguł praworządności i demokracji. Wyspy Owcze coraz częściej sygnalizują aspiracje do uzyskania niepodległości.
