Celem artykułu jest omówienie wpływu nowoczesnych technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych adresowanych do osób niewidomych i słabowidzących na działalność bibliotek, zwłaszcza w aspekcie kolekcji bibliotecznych oraz oferowanych usług biblioteczno-informacyjnych. W tekście wyjaśniono pojęcie tyfloinformatyki oraz omówiono najczęściej wykorzystywane produkty określane tym mianem. Następnie dokonano charakterystyki przemian jakie zaszły w bibliotekarstwie w zakresie formatów dokumentów oraz sposobów ich udostępniania osobom z niepełnosprawnością wzrokową. W kolejnej części artykułu scharakteryzowano działalność jedynej toruńskiej placówki zaspokajającej potrzeby biblioteczno-informacyjne osób niewidomych i słabowidzących – Ośrodka Czytelnictwa Chorych i Niepełnosprawnych Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej – Książnicy Kopernikańskiej. Dokonano charakterystyki zbiorów bibliotecznych z uwzględnieniem przemian jakie zaszły w zakresie nośników zapisu informacji oraz oferty usług skierowanej do wspomnianej grupy. Zwrócono uwagę na trudności w dokumentowaniu działalności bibliotecznej, jakie pojawiają w związku ze zmianami technologicznymi.

The aim of the article is to discuss the influence of modern information technologies for the blind and visually impaired on the work of libraries, particularly in the aspect of library collections and information services. The article explains the term ‘typhlo-informatics’ and describes the most frequently used products defined by this term. Next, the author characterizes the changes which took place in the formats of documents and the manners of making them accessible to visually impaired people. The article goes on to describe the activity of the only unit in Torun which meets the needs of the blind and visually impaired – the Reading Centre for the Sick and Handicapped of Copernicus Voivodeship Public Library. The book collections were described, taking into account changing data storage devices and the offer of services directed at the above-mentioned group. The author also stresses the difficulties which appear as a result of technological changes.

Das Ziel des Artikels ist es, den Einfluss der an Blinde und Sehbehinderte gerichteten modernen informations-kommunikativen Technologien auf die Tätigkeit der Bibliotheken zu besprechen, insbesondere unter dem Aspekt der Bibliothekssammlungen sowie der angebotenen bibliotheks-informationsbezogenen Dienstleistungen. Im Text wird der Begriff der Typhloinformatik erklärt sowie die am häufigsten genutzten Produkte, die mit diesem Namen bezeichnet werden, besprochen. Anschließend wurde eine Charakteristik der Veränderungen vorgenommen, die im Bibliothekswesen im Bereich der Dokumentenformate sowie der Art und Weise, wie sie Sehbehinderten zugänglich gemacht werden, eingetreten sind. In einem weiteren Teil des Artikels wurde die Tätigkeit der einzigen Thorner Stelle charakterisiert, die die bibliothekarischen und Informationsbedürfnisse von Blinden und Sehbehinderten befriedigt – das Ośrodek Czytelnictwa Chorych i Niepełnosprawnych Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej – Książnicy Kopernikańskiej [Lesezentrum für Kranke und Behinderte der Öffentlichen Woiwodschaftsbibliothek – Kopernikus-Bücherei]. Vorgenommen wurden Charakteristiken der Bibliothekssammlungen unter Berücksichtigung der Veränderungen, die im Bereich der Datenträger sowie des Angebotes von an die genannte Gruppe gerichteten Dienstleistungen eingetreten sind. Es wurde auf die Schwierigkeiten bei der Dokumentation der Bibliothekstätigkeit hingewiesen, die im Zusammenhang mit den technologischen Veränderungen auftreten.
