Narastające problemy społeczne i ekonomiczne stawiają przed ośrodkami pomocy społecznej i ich pracownikami nowe wyzwania. W tym kontekście należy zwrócić uwagę na zagadnienie klimatu organizacyjnego i jego wpływu na zaangażowanie organizacyjne pracowników. W artykule podjęto próbę odpowiedzi na następujące pytania: jaki jest poziom zaangażowania organizacyjnego pracowników i jaka jest ogólna orientacja klimatu organizacyjnego ośrodków pomocy społecznej oraz czy istnieje związek pomiędzy poziomem zaangażowania organizacyjnego pracowników a orientacją klimatu organizacyjnego ośrodków pomocy społecznej? Cele te zostaną zrealizowane przez zaprezentowanie wyników badań empirycznych przeprowadzonych w ośrodkach pomocy społecznej na Śląsku.

Growing social and economic problems pose new challenges for social welfare centres and their employees. In this context special attention should be paid to the issue of organizational climate and its impact on employee commitment. This paper tries to answer the questions: what is the level of organizational commitment of the employees and what is the general orientation of the organizational climate of social welfare centres as well as is there a relationship between the orientation of the organizational climate of social welfare centres and their employees’ organizational commitment? These aims will be achieved by presenting the results of empirical research concerning employees’ organizational commitment and its ties with the orientation of the organizational climate carried out in social welfare centres in Silesia.
