A number of Czech language volumes from the medieval era on the subject of medicine have been preserved, stored in domestic and foreign library collections. One of these is the manuscript from the middle of the 15th century, located in the Czartoryski Library in Cracow with the call number B 1497. The volume is a compilation and contains therapeutic texts, treatises on plants and stones, and other specialized treatises. This article describes the content of the volume in detail, though attention is devoted above all to the characteristics of language at all levels. Of exceptional interest is the vocabulary used - the volume documents lexical units which are not documented in other sources or are documented negligibly or with different meanings. There is detailed commentary on the relationship of this volume to the manuscript with the call number II H 4 in the Library of the National Museum in Prague, which is a copy of the Polish manuscript.

The traditional common headline of the article includes two contributions to the work of Claretus, Czech medieval lexicographer. The authors - historians of the Czech language - explain two Latin-Czech word pairs from his Glossarium, which have not been, so far, satisfactorily clarified: 1) urnus - zdrusec; 2) alchita - zivodne.

In 1972 Jan Svoboda submitted the volume II of his 'Dictionary of Old-Czech Personal Names' (N - Z) to Academia publishing house. However, this volume was not published. Until his sudden death on 5th March 1973 he completed a part of the volume I (A - Drzslav). In 1974 the complete material of J. Svoboda was succeeded to the Institute of Czech Language of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, which was to finish the Dictionary within the bounds of a state task. The elaboration of the Dictionary was, however, abandoned in 1978. At present (on 20th June 2007) the following materials are available: the incomplete original and one incomplete copy of the volume II of the Dictionary (N - Z), the original and one copy of the volume I of the Dictionary (A - Drzslav). It is necessary to: a) publish the volume II of the Dictionary (N - Z), as it was elaborated by J. Svoboda and revised by V. Smilauer, b) elaborate the volume I of the Dictionary in a similar way.

Recently, a parchment written in angular Croatian Glagolitic was found in the M. Lacko´s Archive of the Centre for East-West spirituality (Archív Centra spirituality Východ-Západ M. Lacka). By further investigation, we found out that it is a text in Old Czech written by angular Croatian Glagolitic originally from the Prague monastery Na Slovanech, where such manuscripts used to be created in the last quarter of the 14th century and the first quarter of the 15th century. The aim of this paper is to describe the fragment, check its content and to place it among the other known manuscripts of this type.
