The article presents the scope and significance of the problem of transfer the ownership of small and medium sized enterprises in UE and Poland. It also describes the programs of UE, concerning the inter-generational transfer of companies and analyze the degree of implementation the recommendation of the Commission of European Communities, regarding such transfers.
