Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie specyfiki zawodu lektora DAAD na przykładzie pracy na Uniwersytecie Karola w Pradze oraz na Uniwersytecie Pedagogicznym w Krakowie. Autor tekstu daje wgląd nie tylko w pracę dydaktyczną, wskazuje możliwości pomocy w uzyskiwaniu stypendiów czy zadania w obszarze kultury, lecz pokazuje również po części prywatny i organizacyjny zakres działań, niepozostający bez wpływu na wymienione powyżej rodzaje aktywności. Ponadto w artykule nacisk położono na subiektywne odczucia i wrażenia osoby przechodzącej z funkcji asystenta językowego na stanowisko lektora, z uwzględnieniem różnic pomiędzy obydwoma rodzajami działalności. Szczególną rolę odgrywa przy tym opis pionierskich zadań pochodzącego z zagranicy lektora na Uniwersytecie Pedagogicznym w Krakowie, również w kontekście przeprowadzanej obecnie reformy szkolnictwa wyższego oraz w odniesieniu do zadań DAAD w Polsce.

The core of this article is the DAAD-Lecturer‘s reflections on previous work at Charles University and the Pedagogical University in Cracow. He gives insight not only into his teaching, advertising of scholarships, and cultural work, but also into the partially private, organisational circumstances under which he carried out his work. The author focuses on his impressions and the perceived differences in the transition from being a Language Assistant to Lecturer. A special feature here is that the author is the first DAAD-Lecturer to be appointed at the Pedagogical University of Cracow, a position filled againsta background of the Polishuniversity reforms and the current situation of DAAD in Poland.

Die Reflexion des DAAD-Lektors über seine bisherige Tätigkeit an der Karlsuniversität in Prag sowie an der Pädagogischen Universität in Krakau bildet den Kern des Artikels. Er gibt nicht nur einen Einblick in seine Lehrtätigkeit, Stipendienwerbung und Kulturarbeit, sondern auch in die teils privaten, teils organisatorischen Umstände, unter denen er diese Aktivitäten ausübt. Der Autor legt den Schwerpunkt auf seine Eindrücke unddie damit einhergehenden wahrgenommenen Unterschiede im Übergang von der Sprachassistenz zum Lektorat. Eine Besonderheit spielt dabei die Erstbesetzung des Lektorats an der Pädagogischen Universität, die vor dem Hintergrund der polnischen Hochschulreform und der aktuellen Lage des DAAD in Polen vom Autor dargestellt wird.
