Hindi is the skilled vehicle of the comic in the works of two prominent satire writers (Harisankar Parsai and Srilal Sukla). This paper attempts to trace language techniques both typical and unique to modern hindi comic writing. The employment of idioms for comic purposes is of special importance, since the colloquial phrases based on dead metaphors are comically retold either by changing the components or by appealing to both their metaphorical and literal meanings, in that case incongruous elements or their presentation creates laughter. The comic contamination both in word and phrase-formation produces comic incongruity. Combining different styles, jargons and slangs, but also loanwords is a distinguishing feature of the stylistic syncretism of satire. The presence of scatology and obscenity in Sukla's novel is a rare example of a restricted use of these themes in satirical writings, where comic incongruity happens because of the attempt to break social and individual taboos.
