In this article the authoress tries to analyse 77 student essays which had been inspired by the topic 'Pedagogical practice or pedagogical theory - my choices'. The content of these essays enabled isolating 7 categories, according to the source of their ideas. Referring to the following most commonly accepted interpretations of terms was helpful in creating the categories: pedagogical theory, pedagogy (pedagogy - practice), pedagogical trend and philosophy, ideology. The tendencies, dominating in study group, are presented in numerical juxtapositions with authoress' commentary. A valuable piece of this compilation are quotations from students essays which are justification of their persuasions.
