The article is devoted to the ‚ethnically marked‘ personal names of descendants of ethnic Czech settlers in Russia’s North-West Caucasus. It investigates into the use of the Czech, German and Russian variants of the names, their diminutive forms, principles of rendering into Russian (etymological correspondence, phonetic similarity, practical transcription), and beginning of the use of patronymic as part of a full name.
