The author publishes results of analyses of ochre varieties and of other colours, including Egyptian blue, used on the mural decorations in the best houses in Pistiros, notably in House No. 1 and in the Southern House, in the two 4th century B.C. phases; some patterns of decoration system have also been found. The results show that in Pistiros’ murals the same colours were used as known from Thracian and Macedonian painted tombs.
