In the article „The Relationship between the Authorities and the Catholic Church in Pila in 1956-1972” the author reveals the prevailing relations between the party-state authorities and the church hierarchy. Since the turn of October, which resulted with Wladyslaw Gomulka coming into power, the era of Stalinism came to an end. It led to easing the relations between the state and the Church which return of religion to schools became the symbol of. These changes also reached the town of Pila. Then moving away from liberal policy of the Church, which also echoed in Pila, has been shown. Religion was removed from schools, church property was taken away and absurd taxes and financial penalties were given for illegal, according to the authorities, processions and other public religious practices. Atheisation of society was introduced by organizing various types of courses and trainings related to the materialistic view of the world. This policy was pursued to the end of the rule of W. Gomulka and did not produce the intended results, as most residents of Pila, as well as members of the Polish United Workers' Party had participated in religious practices. The article ends with the events in 1972 when on the Western and Northern Territories a permanent church administration was established and deanery of Pila became part of the Diocese of Gorzow. This was related to the normalization of relations between the state and the Church, which resulted in the transfer of formal documents confirming ownership of properties of both Catholic parishes in Pila made by the Department for Religious Affairs of the Provincial Council in Poznan.

The article presents the political activity of Polish diaspora in independent Ukraine. It shows the forms of this activity and its results, referring to examples of selected representatives of the Polish minority. The text also highlights the attempt to create an independent political movement of Poles on the Dnieper, as well as the history of activities of the independent Polish political party on the Dnieper River. The analysis of the situation taking place in the discussed range of 1988–2018 allows us to conclude that representatives of the Polish minority had the opportunity to conduct political activity in Ukraine, regardless of whether they had their own political party or not. It seems that in the specific geopolitical situation in this country the Polish diaspora can effectively operate only in close cooperation with the organizations of the national majority. This in turn allows us to state that the actions aimed at building their own political power were wrong.

POLITICS OF GLOBAL ARTWORLD The term ‘art world’ (Artworld) was not used before the 1960’, and if – rather rarely and without consequences. It was only in 1964 that Arthur Danto has made the term one of the key concepts of contemporary reflection on art. The artworld has come to mean the discourse accompanying art. The world of art should not be equated with art market, although today the Western artworld is increasingly subordinated to the market. Can market replace politics? Can it become policy? Is this the way of post-political policy? Is the market always connected with some policies and always requires some assistance from politics? Today’s global art world wants to combine what is global with what is local; it combines global discourses and local practices. It contributes to global circulation of what is local. Very often, what is local, turn to subaltern art, younger art, lower, worse.
