The article is based on several years of research above the eastern rite by Latin sources in today‘s Eastern Slovakia and speaks of the following: the priest‘s house, vegetable gardens, economic security, the physical condition and equipment of the churches. It is possible to make a model or standard picture of the classic Uniate parish in the east of Slovakia in the first half of the 18th century. Essential element of the ministry of the sick is the sacramental service. The sacrament of the penance and reconciliation, the sacrament of the anointing of the sick, Holy Communion and the celebration of Eucharist are the top-forms of the care about ill people. In this sacraments they experience in a special way the love and the closeness of God. Eucharist in which becomes a reality for all generations, the mysteries of cross and resurrection, is a special 'place' of the recognition of the beneficial value of the suffering and a place of the bond of it with redemptive love of Christ. In offering to God on the altar, the bread and the wine is the symbolically expressed human suffering. The bread and wine become a power of the Eucharistic transformation of the Body and Blood of the Lord.

The article compares how the documents of the CBK National framework programme of priestly formation and the Guidelines for the formation, life and ministry of permanent deacons in the Czech Republic take into account the different mission of deacons and priests in the Church in their preparation for their service and subsequent permanent formation. An emphasis on solidarity, knowledge of the social teaching of the Church, the diakonia of the Word of God, liturgy and charity and charity work readiness predominate in the formation of the diaconal ministry. A particular emphasis is placed on the formation of the entire family of a married deacon. The formation of priests, in contrast, emphasizes his role as a pastor and teacher with a greater emphasis on knowledge and the ability to lead God‘s people to the freedom to follow Christ.

The article introduces the canonical procedure connected with requesting a dispensation of celibacy in the proper way. After an initial definition of the terminology (clergy, celibacy, dispensation) it briefly summarizes the development of legal norms from the Code of Canon Law from 1917 to the present times. Furthermore, it analyzes in detail the procedure for the request for a dispensation which must be asked separately in cases of requests for release from the spiritual status of the cleric (laicization) both priests and deacons. The article goes on to list the documents which are required for completion by the Ordinary within the instructional procedures before their being sent to the Congregation for the Clergy. Since this issue is not contained in the Codes, it primarily continues with an analysis of extra-canon-Code norms. In conclusion, the difficulties connected with the dispensation procedure are enumerated.
