The paper is devoted to Nabokov’s literary onomastics. It shows that his use of meaning proper names is much more refined and complicated than the use of them in older times. Hiding of various meanings and connotations in nomina propria is one of the favorite Nabokov’s devices and one of the ways he plays his games with readers. These are games of similiarities and differences in Ada or Ardour and Pnin and Look at the Harlequins! as well.

Artykuł poświęcony jest literackiej onomastyce Nabokova. Jak przedstawia, zastosowanie przez pisarza znaczących nazw własnych jest znacznie bardziej zamierzone i złożone, niż ich wczesniejsze użycie. Ukrywanie w nomina propria rozmaitych znaczeń i konotacji jest jednym z ulubionych środków Nabokova i jednym ze sposobów rozgrywania gry z czytelnikiem. Są to gry podobieństw i różnic w Adzie oraz Pninie i Patrz na te arlekiny!
