Wojciech Smarzowski’s Rose as the medium of ideology The text concentrates on the problem of the ideologization of artistic transmission and uses Wojciech Smarzowski film ‘Rose’ as an example. This problem is considered both on several levels: reception, above all the critical-film level, and also on the level of the work itself. The analysis reveals the impoverishment of the message by radical left-wing and also conservative ideologization is becoming apparent. Also a susceptibility of work to discourse of the political correctness is becoming apparent, in addition it is rather superficial susceptibility.

In my text I analyse Weiser Dawidek – a novel written in the mid-1980s by Paweł Huelle (who was a novice author at the time) and its film version Weiser, adapted and directed by Wojciech Marczewski in 2001. I focus on reception of both of the works. The story, which was recognized as one of the most important literary phenomenon in the late 1980s, begins with a “primal scene” of an anti-Semitic harassment and assault performed by Catholic male adolescents on their schoolmate Dawidek. Nevertheless, the Jewish aspect of the novel and its apparent reference to the Holocaust was not perceived by most of the reviewers and literary critics. I draw upon various theoretical contexts (e.g. Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis, memory and trauma studies) as I attempt to discuss the complex problem of the legacy of the Holocaust in Poland.

The film by Joanna Kos - Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze Papusza from 2013 is one of the main achievements in the recent history of Polish cinema. The creators took up a difficult topic for Poles and Roma. They referred to the negative image of the Roma community. They took up the popularization of the artist, not accepted by most compatriots.  The work aroused great interest among  viewers. Papusza has quite rich literature. However, the scientific issues that constitute the media reception of the work of J. Kos-Krauze and K. Krauze and its public reception were not undertaken. The article will discuss the press and metamedial internet reception of Papusza, including the issue of how this film will be received by viewers.

Film Joanny Kos – Krauze i Krzysztofa Krauzego Papusza z 2013 r. należy do głównych osiągnięć w najnowszej historii polskiego kina. Dzieło wzbudziło duże zainteresowanie wśród widzów kinowych, telewidzów, internautów i odbiorców płyt DVD.
