W artykule przedstawiono aktywność Ligi Kobiet i następnie Ligi Kobiet Polskich prezentowanej na łamach „Zwierciadła”, popularnego czasopisma kobiecego wydawanego w okresie PRL. Analizą objęto okres, kiedy periodyk wydawany był przez organizację, a więc w latach 1957–1961 i 1982–1989. Czasopismo pełniło w tym czasie rolę promującą organizację, upowszechniającą zasadność działalności Ligi Kobiet i Ligi Kobiet Polskich oraz propagandową — propagującą wśród czytelniczek program polityczny władz PRL. „Zwierciadło” kierowane było do inteligentek, jednak nie cieszyło się poważną popularnością kobiet, tak jak np. „Kobieta i Życie”.

The article deals with the activities of the League of Women, later renamed the League of Polish Women, as presented in the weekly Zwierciadło [Mirror], an up-market women’s magazine launched in 1957, in the aftermath of the October 1956 ‘Thaw’. The analysis covers the period of 1957–1961 and 1982–1989 when the magazine was published by the League. Its role was to present in a more attractive form the work of the League and to serve as a light-handed propaganda outlet of the communist government. Zwierciadło was addressed mainly to educated women and never reached the popularity of the traditional mass-market Kobieta i Życie [Woman and Life].
