Artykuł ujmuje w sposób syntetyczny problematykę nauczania i propagowania muzyki jazzowej we współczesnej Polsce. Autor przedstawia sytuację jazzu na wszystkich szczeblach edukacyjnych: w szkolnictwie powszechnym (szkoła podstawowa, gimnazjum, liceum), szkolnictwie muzycznym oraz w wyższych uczelniach (akademie muzyczne, uniwersytety), omawia również inne formy nauczania i propagowania jazzu w naszym kraju (m.in. Mała Akademia Jazzu, warsztaty jazzowe, rola mediów)Teaching and Promoting Jazz in PolandSUMMARYThe article is a synthetic presentation of the problems of teaching and promoting jazz music in contemporary Poland. The author discusses the situation of jazz at all educational levels: in the general education system (primary school, gimnazjum (junior high school), and senior high school), at music schools and at the higher education level (academies of music and universities); he also discusses other forms of teaching and promoting jazz in Poland (inter alia Jazz Academy for Juniors, jazz workshops, and media). The paper is also a critical and postulative approach to the situation of jazz in Polish education because Mariusz Bogdanowicz, an expert jazz musician, not only presents the present condition and the educational achievements in jazz so far, but he also points out the existing imperfections and formulates specifi c suggestions.
