In the 20 century there were two important th processes that undermined traditional Western understanding of the human. Firstly, it was the unprecedented advance in science and technology. Secondly, the rise of antihumanism in philosophy and social sciences. In my text I argue that post-anthropocentrism should be treated as a response to a situation where a new way of thinking about the human, especially in relation to non-humans, is highly needed. In the next sections I refer to the work of Bruno Latour in order to show the theoretical background of post-anthropocentric discourse. Finally, I approach the question of practical aspects of post-anthropocentrism.
