Der Artikel unternimmt den Versuch, die Beziehungen zwischen der Religion und der Philosophie zu bestimmen, mit besonderer Berücksichtigung der gegenseitigen Beeinflussung: wo die Religion die Metaphysik der Philosophie motiviert, und die Philosophie die Religion vor dem Fanatismus schützt. Diese Überlegungen werden von der Reflexion über die einseitige Bindung der Religion an den politischen Konservatismus und von einer knappen Bestandsaufnahme über postsäkuläre Strömungen in der Religionsbetrachtung im 20. Jahrhundert begleitet.

The paper attempts to delineate the relationships between religion and philosophy, in parti-cular their mutually conducive influence – religion is a catalyst of philosophy’s metaphysical dimension while philosophy is a shield that protects religion from funda-mentalism. Furthermore, the article focuses also on the one-sided analysis of religion as a marker of political conservatism and offers brief insights into the post-secular tendency evi-dent in the twentieth-century scholarly take on religion.

Artykuł jest próbą określenia relacji między religią a filozofią, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ich wzajemnie inspirującego związku – gdy religia motywuje metafizyczność filozofii, a filozofia chroni religię przed fanatyzmem. Towarzyszy temu refleksja nad jednostronnym wiązaniem religii z konserwatyzmem politycznym oraz krótkie zdanie sprawy z tendencji postsekularnej w dwudziestowiecznym spojrzeniu na religię.
