This paper discusses Polish infinitive forms that occur in finite sentences and offers a contrary analysis of syntactic coherence in relation to the Principles and Parameters (PP) framework for Linguistic Theory by Chomsky (1981). The question raised is in which structural configurations these infinitives need to occur in order to be regarded as coherent.

Artykuł opisuje zdania języka polskiego zawierające konstrukcje bezokolicznikowe. Celem jest zbadanie różnych polskich form bezokoliczników i konstrukcji bezokolicznikowych według kryterium koherencyjności (spójności) G. Becha (1955/57) i z punktu widzenia Teorii Zasad i Parametrów (PPT) Noama Chomsky’ego. W części pierwszej wyjaśniono m.in. pojęcia konstrukcji koherentnych i niekoherentnych, a w części głównej skoncentrowano się na badaniu polskich konstrukcji z bezokolicznikami w różnych typach zdań w odniesieniu do kryteriów Teorii Zasad i Parametrów oraz poprzez porównanie ich z konstrukcjami zdań języka niemieckiego.
