The article tackles the problem of theoretical significance of transformation experiences in Poland. Taking into account their usefulness for explaining transformations in the post-communist area, research perspectives and orientations dealing with radical system changes are presented. The analysis is focused on the idea of theoretical eclecticism, its qualities and cognitive limitations. It is aimed at answering the question of the specificity of Polish transformation in light of sociological knowledge.
This article is about the state of research on the German occupation of Polish territory. It also tries to answers the question of a direction of any seek further historical reflection on this issue, indicating gaps and also the cognitive perspective. The author proposes a fundamental thesis that despite the large number of publications concerning the fate of the occupied Polish territories, there are still works missing that could answer questions affecting the contemporary ideas of the German occupation.
