The paper presents, defines and describes procedures concerning public procurement, focusing on tenders implemented for military units of the Polish Armed Forces. Special attention has been paid to the main modes of awarding a public procurement contract. The author discusses open and closed tender, which are used by Regional Infrastructure Authorities in accordance with the Public Procurement Act. The paper defines both types of tender as well as detailing the tasks that must be performed by the ordering party at specific stages of the tendering procedure, which is also described by the author.
