Jednym z przykładów działania na rzecz jedności chrześcijan jest projekt Religiöse Schulwoche. Jest to jedna z form duszpasterstwa obejmującego szkoły w Niemczech, dotychczas nie opisywana w polskojęzycznej literaturze. Projekt ten jest przykładem braterskiej współpracy Kościołów katolickiego i luterańskiego, której celem jest postęp w ekumenizmie praktycznym i duchowym. Projekt Religiöse Schulwoche został zainicjowany w 1947 r. i wiąże się z osobą Clemente Peieiry SJ (1911–1990). Do celów projektu Religiöse Schulwoche należy zachęcanie uczniów do zastanowienia się nad własną tożsamością; szukanie związków między życiem i wiarą; odkrycie wiary jako pomocy w rozumieniu siebie i otaczającej rzeczywistości; zachęcanie do odpowiedzialnego działania; szukanie nowych życiowych perspektyw; rozwinięcie w uczniach poczucia odpowiedzialności za siebie i drugiego człowieka; umożliwienie doświadczenia przez uczniów wzajemnego zrozumienia i poszanowania odmiennych poglądów; zmierzenie się z pytaniami dotyczącymi religijnego wymiaru życia.

Schools of North Rhine-Westphalia took the initiative and changed their timetables to invite staff of the Archdiocese of Paderborn, Diocese of Münster and of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia. The staff members gathered students with their parents and teachers during their lectures and answered various questions in smaller groups, as well as during the church service. The main idea of this longstanding ecumenical project stated by Religiöse Schulwoche is the prevention of the young generation’s ideological brainwashing and manipulation, which were experienced during National Socialism of Nazi Germany. The beginning of this initiative took place in 1947 and is connected with Clemente Pereira SJ (1911–1990). Ecumenical group which consists of educationalists and theologians at the disposal of students and their parents. Lecturers of Catholic and Evangelical Churches meet young people to allow them to reflect on their lives. Classes gather 9th–12th grade students, regardless of their worship and their world-view. Such classes gather up to 15 students for a maximum of three hours a day. The main aims of Religiöse Schulwoche are: to encourage students to think about their identities, to encourage responsible actions, to develop a sense of responsibility for oneself and other people, to make it possible for students to understand and respect different opinions, to cope with questions concerning religious aspects of living. Religiöse Schulwoche is not only intended for students but for adults as well. There are also meetings for parents and teachers. Besides group meetings, there are also motivations for the start of the day, with so-called Wort in den Tag, and ecumenical church services, which is the crowning touch to the week of the meetings.
