Celem artykułu jest ocena zmian zachodzących w strukturze i wielkości oficjalnych rezerw walutowych w Polsce na tle tych zmian zachodzących na świecie w latach 2005-2015. Szczególny nacisk kładzie się na charakterystykę struktury rezerw Narodowego Banku Polskiego (NBP) w ujęciu walutowym. Istotnym elementem artykułu jest także porównanie zmian zachodzących w strukturze polskich i światowych rezerw walutowych. Podstawowe metody badawcze wykorzystane w artykule to studia literatury światowej oraz analiza danych statystycznych. Podstawowymi źródłami danych statystycznych są publikacje NBP i MFW.

The aim of the paper is to analyze changes in the structure and size of the official foreign reserves in Poland over the years 2005-2015 comparing to changes in these structure and size worldwide. Particular emphasis in the article is put on the structural characteristics of the NBP’s reserves in terms of currencies. An important element of the article is also a comparison of changes taking place in the structure of Polish and global foreign exchange reserves. The paper is based on the international literature and statistical data. The main sources of necessary data were taken from publications delivered by NBP and IMF.
