Przedsiębiorstwa w toku prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej mogą zgodnie z zasadami prawa stosować pewne prawa wyboru. Jedno z nich dotyczy sposobu ustalania wyniku finansowego. Jednak niejednokrotnie prawa te są nadinterpretowane. Wówczas jednostki wykorzystując pewne instrumenty polityki bilansowej działają w granicach prawa lub nawet opuszczają się jego łamania. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwości kształtowania wyniku finansowego, niekiedy w sposób wykraczający poza normy etyczne.
