W artykule wspomnieniowym przedstawiono szkic biograficzny wybitnego poznańskiego historyka medycyny, profesora Romana K. Meissnera (1939-2017). Zwrócono szczególną uwagę na jego osiągniecia badawcze w dziedzinie historii medycyny wielkopolskiej. Przypomniano tytuły i problematykę najważniejszych prac naukowych Zmarłego; podkreślono także inne działania organizacyjne oraz inicjatywy Profesora na rzecz polskiego środowiska naukowego i poznańskiej medycyny akademickiej.

The memoir article presents a biographical sketch of an outstanding Poznań medical historian, Professor Roman K. Meissner (1939-2017). Particular attention has been paid to his research achievements in the history of medicine in Greater Poland. The titles and problems of the most important scientific works of the deceased were recalled; also emphasized other organizational activities and initiatives of the Professor for the Polish scientific community and Poznan's academic medicine.
