The province of Africa was one of the most important within the Roman Empire.Hence, a lot of source material, including epigraphic material, has been preserved,facilitating research in this area. The author took up the epigraphic source – senatusconsultum de nundinis saltus Beguensis, dedicated to the organization of trade in theAfrican province. The researcher presented the text senatus consultum, and thensubjected him to critical analysis and commentary, confronting her arguments withliterary and legal sources.

Prowincja Afryka była jedną z najważniejszych w Imperium Rzymskim. W związkuz tym zachowano wiele źródeł, w tym materiał epigraficzny, który ułatwia badania nadprzedmiotową problematyką. Autorka podjęła się opracowania źródła epigraficznego– senatus consultum de nundinis saltus Beguensis, poświęconego organizacjihandlu w prowincji afrykańskiej. Badaczka przedstawiła tekst regulacji prawnej –uchwały senatu (senatus consultum), a następnie poddała go krytycznej analiziei komentarzowi, konfrontując jej argumenty ze źródłami literackimi i prawnymi
