The objective of the article was to present the current state of the market of native protein crops in the light of the Multiannual Programme kept by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development aimed at improving the country’s security in terms of availability of the plant protein. The results indicate that in Poland there is a slow rebuilding of the sown area of native protein crops, which is mainly related to the possibility of receiving financial support from the state. However, there is no market on which the concentration of demand and supply of this raw material would be possible. Therefore, it was indicated that the success of restitution of native legumes market will depend on the active animating the seeds turnover of these plants by specially appointed entity and the greater state intervention which, through the creation of a national intention indicator, will oblige feed factories to use seeds of the protein plants derived from native production.
