One of the most important developmental contexts for children is their experiences with their peers. For younger children (middle childhood) it is mostly peer context in school settings, while young children spend most of their time either at home, or with their classmates at school. In the classroom children acquire wide range of skills, experiences, attitudes and relationships that influence their adaptation in later life. As children grow experiences with their peers and mainly relations with their peers become increasingly complex. In this paper we focus on the formation of groups and relations in classroom and on the development of socio-metric status among peers. We also summarize main characteristics of social networks and social network analysis.

The purpose of this study is to analyse in detail the manifestation and influence of national identity dimensions of Transylvanian social networks in inter-ethnic perspective. The empirical data came from the research entitled 'The Influence of National Identities of Social Networks between Romanians and Hungarians from Romania' and the data was collected in February 2000. The sample consists of 1756 cases, of which 831 are ethnic Romanian Dases, 925 are ethnic Hungarian, all from Transylvania. It was observed that national attitudes have an important role in forming social relations. The social networks of the Hungarians from Transylvania are organised on an ethnocentric basis, hardly intersecting with the Romanian's social networks and vice-versa. The social groups which are less affected by ethnocentric socialisation, have more inter-ethnic relations than the others, such as less educated people, the Romanian youngsters and the Hungarian older people. The Transylvanians have more inter-ethnic relations in the case of weak ties. We can observe different tendencies between the different youngsters according to ethnicity in the proportion of inter-ethnic social relations.

The starting point of this paper is the 'Linked', Albert László Barabási's popular book, which highlights the importance of the network approach generally. The relevance of network approach in psychology is reviewed in parallel with the absence of its reception in recent social psychology. The indifference of social psychology is rather surprising considering the facts that on the one hand, network approach is originally rooted in people's social network of their everyday relationships which is a genuine social psychological topic, on the other, social psychologists originally played a significant role in the evolution of the network approach - it is however hardly noticed by the contemporary social psychology. Reviewing some historical aspects of small group research, a reinterpretation of Ferenc Mérei's sociometric method is offered to find the reconnection of social network approach and social psychology.

The aim of the article is to present not only the assumptions of social network-based e-learning course, but also the conclusions resulting from its design and implementation. The subject of an analysis is the course 'Designing and conducting online courses', whose three editions have gathered more than 50 participants, among them teachers, trainers, educators and business workers. The starting point for the article was the idea that adult learners require a specific environment for online learning. Its task is to provide support and ensure the conditions for common learning by sharing experiences, participation in activity and practical application of acquired skills. An important course component was also directing attention to deepened learning and to the processes of becoming a 'reflective practitioner'. The authors refer to particular features of such environment and they present the theoretical background as well as certain methodical solutions applied in the course.

The article focuses on presentation of possibilities of using Social Network Analysis - SNA in business management. This is a method widely used both to optimize functioning of an organization, and to design strategy for creation of an enterprise based on examination and measurement of external relations of the company in the competitive environment. The content of the article has been devoted to possibilities of using the SNA method for dynamic analysis of a social network created by employees, and their relations, such as acquaintance, friendship, communication or cooperation. This complicated structure is a realistic reflection of an enterprise that significantly differs from static and hierarchical organizational diagrams. The change in perspective proposed in the article enables recognition of the value of social relations that have a direct impact on effectiveness of an organization. Thus the possibility of examination of the concerned network structures seems to be a key issue. Conducting such studies based on the SNA method enables reproduction, mapping, and analysis of complex and multi-level social relations with consideration to both direct and indirect relations between employees. Specific measurements also allow interpretation of pattern of relations between members of the organization. As this article demonstrates, examination of internal social networks in an enterprise may substantially help in the process of optimization of the company's operation, and is an important contribution to the area of talent and knowledge management.

The Internet as a source of information, a means of communication, a platform for self-presentation is every year becoming more and more part of a person's everyday life. This process is most active and relevant for young people, especially students. It is this social group that not only adapts to new conditions more easily than others, but also promotes them among other layers of the population. The epidemic of COVID-19, and then the war in Ukraine, made the Internet an indispensable element of the daily life of users all over the world, and in our country in particular. There is a lack of sociological research on the use of the Internet by students as a social group and in terms of the combination of Internet awareness and Internet practices of users in Ukraine, so the findings once again emphasizes its relevance. The main tasks that the authors set themselves were to find out for what purpose Ukrainian students use the network and how much time they spend there. The results of the study showed that according to the results of the comparison of the respondents' stories about their own Internet practices and the content analysis data of their screenshots, the declarations of 16 of the 24 interviewed respondents were not confirmed. The article presents the empirical results of a sociological study aimed at identifying the peculiarities of the dynamics of the use of the Internet by Ukrainian students in everyday life, in particular, in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic and related quarantine restrictions. The main practices of the Internet among students were studied and analysed, and the interpretation of the obtained results was described in the article.

In the research, the author complies with the basis of the discourse analysis and answers questions of the traditional linguistics with respect to the relation of language, its use, and the social world. The issue is analysed and interpreted with focus on a numeral as an independent word class that appears in the specific lingual as well as extra lingual context. The material base needed for scientific intent consists of texts published by individual Slovak political parties on Facebook social network before the Slovak parliamentary elections of 2016.

This study deals with the issue of global terrorism. It begins with Beck's description of a pattern of behaviour which is in contradiction with the interests of civilisation. Next, it evaluates Bush's choice between two flows of social capital and his GWOT strategy from the perspective of Giddens' concept of norms and resources. The encounter between the 43rd U.S. president and the al-Qaida chief is explained as a duel between a patron and a broker. The study goes on to provide a comparison of the main actors' social networks and social capital from 9/11/2001 up to the present. In the end, the author juxtaposes the U.S. direct strategic culture and the crafty and insidious culture of al-Qaida and its allied movements.

480 volunteers (n = 476; 224 male, 252 female; age: 12-18 years, mean: 15.97 +/- 1.25 years; 139 are from the city of Budapest, 234 from towns, 103 from villages) participated in the study. The authors study showed that the anxiety level (reduced CPI) related to the gender (T Test: p - 0,01) and to the age (p - 0,05), but not to the place of residence. We also found that the anxiety level is related to the number of close relatives and friends (p - 0,05; p - 0,01 ). It is also connected to the number of mobile phone calls to the family, friends and acquaintances (p - 0,05); to the number of text messages sent to friends and acquaintances (p - 0,05); and to the willingness to build new contacts and trust strangers (p - 0,01). The authors' results indicate that besides the willingness to build new contacts and therefore enlarge the personal social network, the most important factors of controlling anxiety are: the number of not-too-strong links (close relatives and friends); and the number of not-too-strong communication channels (mobile phone calls, text messages). In contrast, the number of very strong links (parents, siblings) and very weak links (distant relatives, acquaintances), as well as the use of strong communication channels (personal contacts) and very weak communication channels (anonymous Internet-communication) may have only a moderate influence on the anxiety level.
