Teaching sociology at higher educational institutions of Ukraine is practically characterized by the absence of necessary methodical tools without which this process is deprived of integrity and system, that is observed in practice today. Such a situation is first of all related to the absence of sufficient domestic experience of such activity, in contrast to the West-European and American universities. The authors of the article try not only to understand the causes of the situation but also to analyze some features of the method of teaching sociology as educational discipline, which presence and use in their opinion, will allow in the future to improve a situation both with training the teachers of high school and with the process of teaching sociology. The question is in the subject of the methods of teaching sociology, its general structure and functions. It is specified, in particular, that the subject of the methods of teaching sociology is determined as objective laws of teaching and studying sociology according to its scientific specificity and communication features between a teacher and student, teacher and teacher in certain terms of their interrelations.
