The 90th anniversary of establishing Polish Naval Academy seems to be a right moment to look back at people who have created the Academy. One of them was capt. Stanislaw Mieszkowski – initiator and the first commandant of Polish Naval Officers School at Oksywie. In spite of his short life his achievements were significant. He fought in the Polish – Soviet War in 1920 and in the defence of Pomerania in 1939. He also had important contribution in rebuilding of Polish Navy after the Second World War. This remarkable officer who was completely devoted to the white-red flag became one of many Stalin's victims.
